Research Interests:
My research centers on critical analysis of ethnic and mainstream media discourses. I have worked extensively on diaspora identity politics from a critical perspective. I am interested in looking at the complexities of living in a multiracial/multicultural world where differently positioned subjects compete for advantage and control. I have also worked on understanding digital media. I have extensively investigated on identifying the relation between social media and public sphere in order to understand the scope of the internet in becoming a global public sphere. More recently, I look at the intersection of marginalized population and their perception of health risks.
