The Center for an Informed Public partnership strives to provide communities with trusted information sources, methods for combating misinformation, and ways to share information that furthers democratic discourse.

The New York Times has created a free extension of its robust platform with The Coronavirus Outbreak. Its Coronavirus Briefing is a newsletter with latest developments and expert advice.


The Centers for Disease Control provides a valuable multilingual resource for medical and immunological topics related to the novel coronavirus. Key topics include “Keeping Communities Safe,” “Daily Life & Coping,” “Travel,” and a “Situation Summary.”


The Washington Department of Health has created a multilingual site for information regarding the coronavirus. Find key events related to testing, and interactive state map, and education materials in 26+ languages.

The Seattle Times has extensive coverage of the coronavirus’s effects on the Seattle area and beyond, including an interactive coronavirus timeline.


The King County Public Health department has accurate and well-produced resources focused on the Pacific Northwest region. This site includes the latest local guidelines for healthy behaviors (in multiple languages), as well as anti-stigma resources such as the printable “Viruses don’t discriminate and neither should we” poster.

Vox Media’s Coronavirus Explained offers evidence-based explanations of the crisis including topics such as the U.S. response, explainers, and testing and treatments.


The World Health Organization website includes live press conferences from experts affecting policy, a mythbusters section, travel advice and more. It also has one of the most up-to-date counters of confirmed cases around the globe.
