Biography

Folake Okor is the immediate past Registrar of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State, Nigeria, a position she held for over eight years in acting and full capacity. She has over two decades of work experience in the educational leadership system. She hails from Ile-Ife, Osun state, Nigeria. She enrolled at the University of Ibadan in 1988 to study Linguistics. She graduated from the University after four years with a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics with a second-class honor, upper division. She also holds a master’s degree in public administration (MPA) from the University of Lagos.

Folake Okor’s interest in teaching and her desire to achieve the highest qualification in teaching college-level communications led her to Western Illinois University where she received a master’s degree in communication and taught public speaking as a graduate teaching assistant/instructor in the department. Her area of interest is in the field of communication with a particular focus on health literacy. She is passionate about learning how to conduct research in health and risk communication. She has also published an article on message production titled, “Assessing Compliance-Gaining Techniques in Requesting for Car Rides Among International Students” on Research Gate. As an aspiring academic with a sound professional background in higher education administration, her goal is to complete her doctorate program at Washington State University.
