Meet Olivia Guthrie!

Olivia is graduating from WSU this May, a year earlier than anticipated, with a bachelor’s in Risk and Crisis Communication and Public Relations. She discovered Murrow College when her Grandpa showed her a clipping in the Seattle Times that said that the College was the best communication school in Washington State.

During her first visit to campus, she fell in love with the culture of the college and appreciated how welcoming everyone was. Her favorite things about Murrow are the staff and students and how everyone wants to support each other to succeed. Olivia values what she has learned as a student and feels like Murrow College has prepared her with the necessary skills to excel in any career field she pursues.

Olivia is involved in several activities and clubs outside of the classroom. She is a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and coaches for Girls on the Run, a nonprofit girls empowerment program.

Since coming to Murrow College, Olivia has worked three internships, which she found out about either through Murrow resources or from mentors. She is currently the social media coordinator at Tom Denchel Autogroup, leading the company’s public relations and marketing efforts. After graduating, she will be working at Ford Automotive as a zone manager. Olivia believes that Murrow College has set her up for success and is looking forward to her post-graduation life.
