Meet Molly!

Molly Nakao is a senior at WSU majoring in Journalism and Media Production at the Murrow College. Molly has always known she wanted to major in Communications, but after researching the different focuses in the program, she knew Journalism and Media Production was perfect for her.

Molly’s favorite thing about Murrow is the people. She loves how you can find alumni almost anywhere, and that they are always willing to help a fellow Coug.

“I’ve worked in many different programs and organizations and there is no lack of Murrow grads who are always more than happy to help out current Murrow students.”

She’s also appreciative of all the work experience she’s gotten because of connections made at Murrow College, including working with WSU Athletics and even being the Production Assistant for Jimmy Kimmel during the MLS Cup in Seattle this past November.

Molly currently works with the WSU women’s basketball team doing video production and video coordination. Her primary job responsibilities involve creating content for all social media platforms such as videos and photos of the team while traveling or at community events, as well as capturing game film and live coding during games.

As for the future, Molly wants to work in sports video production for a professional or collegiate program or ESPN. From her past work experiences, she realized how much the Murrow College prepared her for the real world and feels fortunate to have been taught from such a high caliber program.

“I feel more ready to enter the real world thanks to the Murrow College!”
