Gilbert Corsey never stopped talking as a child. He grew up the youngest in a family of four always telling what his brother had done. The family called it tattling. Gilbert thinks it was actually his first crack at reporting.
He joined the WDRB News team in January 2011, as a reporter/co-anchor of WDRB News at 4 and in October 2020 transitioned to also anchor WDRB News at 10.
Gilbert is known for signature special reports telling stories that touched viewers hearts or held decision makers accountable. Among the highlights, he’s exposed a flawed juvenile justice system, questionable spending with taxpayers money, political corruption, and environmental waste.
Gilbert’s work has been recognized with more than a dozen Emmy Awards for everything from investigations to features and writing to anchoring. He represents his peers as Governor for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Ohio Valley Region, and is currently serving in leadership as Trustee for the National Academy.
Louisville is the latest stop in a broadcasting career that has taken him across the country including newsrooms in Texas, North Carolina and West Virginia.
Gilbert likes to get home to Seattle when he is not working. He graduated from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University and remains a diehard Cougar fan….GO COUGS!!! He is also proud member of the fraternity Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI).
In Kentuckiana Gilbert stays plugged into the community. You may see him emceeing a community fundraiser, singing with a gospel choir or hosting a professional wrestling event.
