Debra Alfarone is a freelance correspondent for CBS Newspath in Washington, DC since October 2019. During her time at Newspath, she’s covered the 2020 election, the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to joining Newspath, Debra earned an Edward R. Murrow and Emmy award for her anchoring at WUSA9, the CBS DC affiliate. There she fought to help amplify the voices of sex trafficking and rape survivors and other victims of crime. Before that, Debra worked as a reporter for PIX 11 News in New York and NBC Connecticut in Hartford. Debra is originally a New Yorker and graduated from Stony Brook University.
