From her first sales and sales management roles in the broadcast industry at KIRO-TV (CBS) in Seattle, DJ has risen professionally in commercial television broadcast sales, marketing, and management. She was vice president and assistant general manager of KING-TV (NBC), KONG-TV (IND), and NorthWest Cable News (Belo) in Seattle. She served as president and general manager of KREM-TV (CBS) and KSKN-TV (CW) and the Belo stations in Spokane. She previously worked in sales management positions for FOX-owned and operated stations in Atlanta, Detroit, and Birmingham before working her way up to VP of sales.

DJ has served two terms on the WSU Foundation Board of Governors and currently chairs the Murrow College Professional Advisory Board.

She has generously served as a member and/or in leadership on the boards of numerous community and civic organizations, including Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, the Portland Business Alliance, the Portland Art Museum, SMART (Start Making a Reader Today), the Classic Wine Auction, Farestart, MCEI (Marketing Communications Executives International), the Institute for Family Development in Seattle, and Rotary clubs in Portland, Seattle, and Spokane.

DJ has also served on committees for the Television Bureau of Advertising in New York and NBC’s Jay Leno Show. She received the 2010 Portland Orchid Award, recognizing exceptional female business leadership, and the Portland Business Alliance “Breaking the Glass Ceiling” award in 2012.
