Geoffrey Harvey

Harvey Headshot

Geoff Harvey is a Radio/TV Communications grad from the Murrow School in 1974. After 12 years in broadcasting, he spent the majority of his career in media and public relations working for a national scientific laboratory in southeastern Washington. Whether writing news releases, collaborating with scientists to prepare technical fact sheets, providing voice-over production for videos or developing the Lab’s risk communications plan, Geoff credits much of his success to his early Murrow experience. Devoting some of what he has learned is his way of continuing to foster the Murrow legacy.

Like most serious WSU Murrow students, Geoff immersed himself in all things communications including working board shifts at KUGR and editing news for KWSU, directing the TV production crew during Cougar basketball, and of course, writing for the Daily Evergreen. Counselors and advisors played an important role in helping guide his development and open doors upon graduation. Geoff enjoys providing similar assistance to promising communications students with a passion for developing their broadcasting and journalism careers.
