Biography
Moe K. Clark is a collaborative investigative reporter covering Washington state for InvestigateWest. She focuses on issues important to local Washington communities, with an emphasis on the state’s vast and undercovered criminal justice system. She started her journalism career in 2019 covering Colorado’s state legislature and other public policy issues for The Colorado Sun and won regional awards for her coverage of the state’s criminal justice system, the affordable housing crisis and environmental issues. Her yearlong investigation into Colorado’s community corrections system for ProPublica led lawmakers to audit the facilities for the first time in 20 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology and ecology from the University of Maine (ask her about bugs!) and a master’s in journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder. She grew up in New Hampshire and feels most at home in the woods.
