Biography

Larissa Babiak covers Latinx issues, including immigration, politics and culture in Pasco for the Tri-City Herald as a Murrow News Fellow. She moved to Washington from Denver in April 2024. A bilingual reporter with deep experience in multimedia storytelling, she covered regional issues for Colorado’s 303 Magazine, produced and directed a documentary short on teen sex education in rural southwest Guatemala and served as a production assistant for Rocky Mountain Public Media. From 2021 to 2024, she worked as a writer/editor for Anythink Libraries, a non-profit public library system that serves Adams County, Colo. Babiak majored in journalism and minored in Spanish at the University of Missouri, graduating in 2019. As a fellow, she became certified to fly a drone to enhance her multimedia skills.
