Craig Dewey (’72 BA Communications) began his career as a copywriter for a small catalog retailer, Norm Thompson Outfitters, eventually becoming director of Advertising. Next, he joined Pendleton Woolen Mills as Director of Communications. After a few years, he left to form his own ad agency, Costar, specializing in direct marketing. In 1986, Norm Thompson persuaded him to return where he helped the company add six more brand titles to its portfolio, including Solutions, Sahalie, Departures, Primary Layer, Cravings, and Reserve Harvest. (At its peak the specialty food catalog sold in excess of 20,000 tins of Cougar Gold annually). Craig retired in 2009 as Executive VP of Merchandising and Marketing. He now volunteers his time as a marketing coach for several small, local businesses.

Craig has served as a board member for Oregon Water Trust, Pacific Crest Outward Bound School and Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation. He is currently President of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity Alumni Association.
