Member, Murrow Professional Advisory Board
Cheri Brennan has worked in public relations and marketing communications her entire career, starting with a job at an advertising agency in San Francisco that was offered the week she graduated. She subsequently worked in retail advertising before returning to the Seattle area.
Cheri was a first gen student who was born and raised in Kirkland, Washington. She has been self-employed as an independent consultant since 1990, working with a variety of clients in industries ranging from trade associations to health care, golf/hospitality, pets, and real estate. Prior to establishing her own business, Alliance Communications located in Bellevue, she held various positions at the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, the Washington State Bar Association, a community newspaper, and a multi-branch real estate brokerage.
An avid believer in “giving back,” Cheri has served as president of three professional associations and on several nonprofit boards and committees. Included on that list is WSU. She helped raise money for WSU’s Viticulture & Enology Program and its Wine Science Center for 10 years. She is completing a two-year term as chair of the Murrow College Professional Advisory Board and is also a volunteer with the WSU Foundation.
Cheri is a proud Murrow alumna. She has an MBA from Seattle University and is certified as an Accredited Public Relations (APR) professional from the Public Relations Society of America.
