Austin has worked at a television station doing almost every job involving sports. He started as a sports reporter and has since been promoted to Sports Director at KHQ in Spokane, Washington. Along the way, he’s also been a producer for sports and news. He currently manages a five-person sports department that covers everything from major college sporting events to high school football on Friday nights.
He has many years of experience covering sports on television, from anchoring nightly sportscasts to reporting on events live in the field. Every aspect of his job involves writing his own scripts, shooting and editing videos, and gathering content.
Additionally, he has worked on live televised sporting events as both a play-by-play announcer and sideline reporter.
As a sports producer, he put together a nightly half-hour sports show, which involved building the rundown, creating graphics, editing videos, and, above all else, writing scripts.
He is comfortable in front of and behind the camera, the producer’s booth, or the press box. He brings a positive attitude to the workplace and is always willing to work with others.
