Herman Meier is a Marketing & Communications Specialist for the YMCA of the Inland Northwest in Spokane, WA. Herman develops and creates print and digital media for the YMCA across a variety of platforms.

Before joining the Y, Herman was a photojournalist at KHQ-TV in Spokane, WA and for KAEF-TV in Eureka, CA. A graduate of the Murrow College, he was heavily involved in Cable 8 Productions, The Daily Evergreen, and the WSU Athletic Department as a student. He served for two years as the President & General Manager of Cable 8 Productions and The Photo Editor for the summer edition of The Daily Evergreen. He received the Faculty Award for Outstanding Senior in Journalism & Media Production from the Murrow College, was awarded Washington State University 2015 Top Ten Senior Award in Visual Arts, Washington State University President’s Award for Leadership, and Winner of Best Newscast from the Society of Professional Journalists Region 10 for his role as a director and was a Northwest Regional College Emmy finalist in photography and editing.

Herman met his wife, Tori, while both were students at WSU and proposed on their graduation day. They live in Spokane with their two dogs. Herman is proud to be a Murrow Graduate and is excited to return to Pullman for the Murrow Symposium.
