Janice Merlino is a media and marketing veteran with over 30 years of experience on local, national, and international brands across multiple business categories. Her 18-year focus on strategic media planning for one of the largest media companies in the world has positioned her as an expert in her field. In addition to media, Janice provides a rich perspective to her client’s general business strategy. As a Managing Partner for Omnicom/DDB, Janice led client and agency teams to develop fully integrated campaign strategy and execution across multiple disciplines which included media, creative, PR, events, and digital. Merlino’s success is grounded in creative problem-solving, negotiating savvy, and a strong focus on results.

Janice founded Merlino Media Group, a mid-sized expert media team in Seattle, in 2008. MMG has the tools and expertise you would expect from a “big media agency,” with the focused dedication and lower overhead of a specialized shop. As an independent media company, MMG provides honest counsel across business, marketing, messaging, and media strategy. They deliver media services to ad agencies and direct to clients across all types of paid media, from planning to buying to reporting and optimization. An experienced team with “virtual offices” to minimize wasted commute time, MMG values collaboration with clients, agencies, and media partners to deliver deliberate and impactful campaigns with data-driven business results. And we make sure we have fun doing it!

Yes, it’s true, Janice is UW grad (woof!), raised by a Husky dad and Cougar mom in Quincy, Washington. Currently, her oldest daughter resides in the Palouse as a proud 2017 WSU freshman. It gets ugly around Apple Cup time. Janice is also active in marketing education and guest lectures regularly for the University of Washington Foster School of Business (grad and undergrad marketing). Janice values education for all and supports UW’s Experimental Education Unit (EEU) for Autistic and Learning-Disabled children and the APL/Advanced Precision Learning School in Seattle.

The good life? Husband Greg (another Coug), daughters Sophia and Jane, snow skiing and boarding, windsurfing in Hood River/Columbia Gorge, great food & wine, Husky football, and a crazy addiction to competitive tennis.
