Criteria: One or more scholarship will be awarded to WSU Communication students according to the following criteria:
- Students must demonstrate commitment to a career in a field of Communication.
- G.P.A. must be above 2.5.
- Preference given to students who participate in The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) or who are veterans of armed forces with an honorable discharge who meet the above criteria.

History: The matriarch of the family, Rose Marie James, was a strong believer in continuing education. Her son, Jim, was educated at the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University, as were Jim’s two children, Michelle and David. Upon Rose Marie’s passing, the family chose to endow a fund to celebrate their family’s lifetime commitment to higher education.
