“There are times when I get discouraged and wonder if there is going to be any payoff in the end.”

Determined student EARNS Bachelor’s Degree through the ISC program

Malfunctions on websites happen all the time but instead of looking at the situation as a negative, this WSU alumnus was able to uncover a degree that interested and excited him.

Kenny Jodock originally wanted to be in Data Analytics but when reading the course content for Com 210 (that he stumbled upon because of a website malfunction) he decided to make the switch.

The ISC program helped improve Kenny’s communication skills, and he learned a little more in-depth about the technological side of the degree. A key influence in his life would be his father; he credits his dad to be the reason why he wanted to pursue a bachelor’s degree by teaching him the importance of education.

Every college student faces obstacles and Kenny had to face his problems head-on, saying he had to balance “two kids, a full-time job, and school all at the same time. There are times when I get discouraged and wonder if there is going to be any payoff in the end. At the end of the day, it’s mind over matter. I know I can finish strong as long as I set my mind to it.” The ISC program made Kenny push hard in order to achieve the results that will make him better in the long run.

At first, Kenny was expecting the program to be mainly focused on essays and writing but found that it taught him much more about concepts and theories on communication.
