Josh Munson is the Corporate Partnerships Coordinator at The Memorial Foundation, which is the fundraising partner for Virginia Mason Memorial hospital in Yakima, WA. He has been with the Foundation for more than 3 years. Josh is passionate about mission-based work and has dedicated his professional career to raising funds and awareness for four health-care initiatives: children’s health, Healthy Yakima, cancer care, and end-of-life care. He serves as the director of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® (CMNH) program at Virginia Mason Memorial, where he focuses on building and maintaining local and national partnerships for children across Central Washington with special health-care needs. Under Josh’s leadership, Virginia Mason Memorial was nationally recognized in 2018 with the largest year-over-year percent increase in CMNH fundraising at 36.12%. In 2019 Josh was selected to serve for a 2-year term on a national board of 12 CMNH program directors called the Hospital Task Force. During his tenure at The Memorial Foundation, Josh has partnered with the community to donate more than $2.5M for programs and services at Virginia Mason Memorial.

Josh is a third-generation Coug, graduating from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University with degrees in strategic communication and political science. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Communication and Leadership through Gonzaga University.

Josh believes strongly in giving back to his community and accomplishes this through his involvement with Rotary. He serves as the current president of Yakima Rotaract, which is the young professionals’ sub-division of Rotary. He is also the youngest member appointed to the Selah Downtown Association Board of Directors, where he works to revitalize the downtown business district as the community’s social, cultural and economic center. In 2019, Josh was one of the youngest featured by the Yakima Herald Republic as one of Yakima’s 39 Under 39. Outside of work and his community involvement, Josh lives to travel, never misses a Cougar football game, and likes to golf.
