From the green pastures of his family farm to the bright lights of Tinseltown, Chris Hampel has been in the “producing” business his whole life.

His degree from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication and hard knock training at Cable 8 prepared him for Hollywood, where started his career as Michael Mann’s directing assistant on the films Collateral and Miami Vice.

Chris HampelAfter that, Chris co-founded a digital production and development company called Big Fantastic with fellow Coug, Douglas Cheney. Their shows Prom Queen, Sorority Forever, and Sam Has 7 Friends reached millions of viewers and garnered multiple Emmy nominations while partnering with the likes of Michael Eisner, McG, Warner Brothers, and MTV.

Chris’ latest project is a documentary film called Why We Ride which he wrote and co-produced. It won Best Documentary at the Motorcycle Film Festival and is currently playing in select theaters around the country
