Rights

  • Can form a research core
  • Easy access to collaborators
  • Invited to Center events
  • Eligible for Center-wide initiatives
  • Discounted access, second-highest priority re labs (for members outside of the Murrow College)
  • Second-priority access to Consortium office space, equipment if available (after Consortium members)*

*Office space to be assigned by the Center director in consultation with steering committee.

Responsibilities

  • Aspects of each member’s research should demonstrate a clear and continuing connection to health promotion and the mission of the Center
  • Each member is expected to participate in / contribute to Center-wide initiatives to the best of his or her ability.
  • Each member will submit an annual report to the Center summarizing:
    • A list of all publications, scholarly or creative productivity directly related to the activities of the Center during the preceding calendar year.
    • A list of all graduate students, postdoctoral appointments, visiting scientists, scholars and artists associated with the unit during the preceding calendar year.
    • A list of all those using the unit’s services and resources including WSU employees and their departments; and non-WSU people and their company or association.
    • Projects active/completed /proposed/in development relevant to media and health promotion (please specify if a project was extramurally funded)

  • Assistance/mentoring on relevant projects/proposals from other members

  • Each member is expected to participate in / contribute to Consortium initiatives to the best f his or her ability.
  • Each member will submit an annual report to the Consortium summarizing:
    • Related research activities
    • Center-related facilities used
    • Graduate and undergraduate students mentored relevant to the Consortium’s mission
    • Projects active/completed /proposed/in development relevant to the Consortium (please specify if a project was extramurally funded)


The specific responsibilities for Consortium membership as set forth in the Bylaws follow:


 Consortium Membership

The Consortium is based on a model of community collaboration among the associated faculty and students. Members are expected to contribute time, expertise, and resources to the Consortium team. Consortium support for individual member projects is provided based on active fulfillment of membership commitments and the prioritization of Consortium resources by the steering committee. Faculty members affiliated with the Murrow College can become members of the Consortium upon application to the steering committee. The application should affirm the proposed member’s commitment to the following responsibilities for members:

  • A minimum of 15% of RA support provided to team
  • Active involvement of faculty members on team projects
  • A minimum of 10% of F&A funds received by the PI to Consortium account
  • Where no F&A exists, dedication of some direct costs to Consortium support.
  • Active pursuit of research relevant to Consortium mission
  • Active pursuit of extramural funding and collection of pilot data for competitive proposals
  • Commitment to attend Consortium faculty and full-team meetings (currently scheduled for 1-2 pm and Mon for full team; 1-2 Wed for faculty members; 1-2 Friday as backup meeting time).
  • Active mentoring of Consortium members and research assistants
  • Active participation in planning and implementation of Consortium events, including student recruitment
