Support the College

A Message from Keith Jackson

Your generous support will help to bolster our digital infrastructure, inject a global worldview across the college, and vault our Communication & Society, Journalism & Media Production and Strategic Communication  programs to global prominence.

Thank you for cementing the college’s role as a continuing vital resource for all the industries it serves.

Prepare Tomorrow’s Leaders/Provide Academic Excellence

Each Murrow College faculty and staff person strives to embody Murrow’s highest values. We are committed to imparting these fundamentals to every undergraduate and graduate student. Your contribution will support key chairs and professorships to foster globally-aware, discerning communication professionals and cutting edge research programs.

Fuel the Digital Murrow Initiative

Through the Digital Murrow Initiative, we will continue to develop and expand our cutting-edge digital and physical infrastructure to best prepare our students to meet real-world demands. We aim to weave digital literacy into every level of the student experience and to act as a beta site for new technologies and new journalism initiatives. This requires an ongoing commitment to early adaption and implementation of emerging hardware, software and communication delivery innovations.

Provide Media Leadership for Students and Professionals

The Murrow College and its broadcast properties, Northwest Public Television and Northwest Public Radio, provide meaningful student learning experiences while serving the news and information needs of people across the Northwest. Our professionally-based, “teaching hospital” model includes student integration in all aspects of television and radio operations. Our upcoming student-based, multi-media regional news service will be part of that integrated model. We are also building a global backpack journalism program for students and professionals to feed our news service and our curriculum.

Assist the Murrow Symposium

Each year students, faculty and professionals meet to discuss communication news and best practices while recognizing preeminent contributions to our field. The symposium reminds us that sound journalism practices and critical thinking skills are at the heart of our college. It also cements our status as an industry leader.

Improve the Health and Well-Being of Society through Communication

  • The Murrow Center for Media & Health Promotion develops and evaluates health communication campaign strategies that make flexible use of a full range of media platforms. The center specializes in research that employs multiple levels of measurement as well as research-based educational efforts that affect social development and quality of life. Projects support graduate and undergraduate student involvement in campaign planning and research.
  • Murrow College Dean’s Excellence Fund - supports all priority programs and initiatives

Support our Development and Outreach Efforts

Your contribution to this fund will help us build strategic partnerships, elevate the college’s public image and attract the funds we require for all our ambitious college programs.
